Chris & Kellie While in Concert

The world class vocals of internationally lauded Chris, and the uncannily similar quality of daughter, Kellie, will combine for an evening of unforgettable live music.

Their pleasure in singing together is obvious and when they duet, it’s easy to lose sight of who is who even though separately they have their own distinctive sound and style. Kellie says: “For us, singing together comes almost as naturally as breathing. It feels right, and I suppose that’s partly due to our special bond and to the physical aspect of being related and partly because it’s something we have done ever since I was small.

“There’s no ego, no competition - just two women who love to sing together for the pure joy of it - we just happen to be mother and daughter.”

Chris is recognised as one of the finest singers on the acoustic circuit both in the UK and around the world. She tours, writes, records and performs both as a soloist and with singer-songwriter Julie Matthews. Chris was also a member of the Albion Band in 1993, as lead singer and guitarist, replacing Julie Matthews. She toured and recorded with the band for four years gaining a much wider audience and reputation, both nationally and internationally, honing her stage technique and contributing individually or collectively to most of the songs on three group albums.

Kellie tours annually with the Albion Christmas Band, and has provided guest vocals for some of the most respected names in folk including Eddi Reader, Fairport Convention, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Martin Simpson. Kellie fronted the world/folk band e2k for 3 years from 2000 making 2 albums.

Steve Tilston in Concert

Steve Tilston Makes a welcome return to Faldingworth Live

Ask anyone on the English acoustic scene who their favourite guitarist, singer, songwriter and entertainer is and nine times out of ten the same name will crop up in the top three of every department.

Steve Tilston is one of our most celebrated song-smiths; widely recognised within the world of folk and contemporary music: the words, arrangements and subtle, quite superb guitar playing could be no one else.

The writer of the classic songs The Slipjigs and Reels, Here’s to Tom Paine and The Naked Highwayman, has turned author. Steve has recently published his first novel – full of colourful characters All for Poor Jack is an historical tale set in Bristol and the New World and it’s a mighty good read and has been enjoyed by the likes of Bob Dylan no less!

A celebrated artist in Britain and abroad, winning accolades in Europe, Australia and the USA, his songs have been recorded by Fairport Convention, Dolores Keane, The House Band, Peter Bellamy, North Cregg, Bob Fox and John Wright. Here’s to Tom Paine is the adopted theme song for the Tom Paine Society of America and it’s been rumoured, has featured in Bruce Springsteen’s live set. His music has also featured regularly on radio and TV.

Support Pete & Helen Wray

Pete & Helen are now working on a variety of new material. They have a love of Blues related music but that does not narrow the styles they play. Pete is an excellent ragtime guitar player as well as a singer, whilst Helen has a lovely bluesy voice as well as providing percussion, for the duo.

Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys

Hailing from Prince Edward Island, the award-winning Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys serve up traditional Canadian roots music with an energy level that practically yanks you out of your seat by the collar.

The Rhythm Boys were given the Galaxie Supernova Award at the 2012 Ottawa Folk Festival for outstanding live performance.

Tom Power, host of Deep Roots on CBC, recently called the Rhythm Boys his "Best Discovery Band" at the 2012 East Coast Music Awards.

The band is made up of

Gordie MacKeeman Fiddle

Peter Cann Vocals, Lead Guitar

Thomas Webb Vocals, Bass, Banjo

Mark Geddes Vocals, Snare Drum/Percussion, Bass

If ever someone was deserving of the nickname “Crazy Legs”, it just might be Gordie MacKeeman. His thrilling dance style mixed with great vocals, Peter Cann’s blistering guitar solos, and the lively multi-instrumental talents of Thomas Webb and Mark Geddes, and Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys are a complete entertainment package.

They came to the UK in July 2012 for a tour. This went so well, they were booked for Glastonbury & headlined The Gate To Southwell Folk Festival in 2013, where they wowed the audience with their sizzling performance. They are back this year, headlining at Warwick Folk Festival & and mainly Arts Centres.

Faldingworth Live are very pleased to have managed to get them to play here in Faldingworth.
